summer vacation

I can't believe it's been a month since our vacation! We went camping again just like last year except we stayed 2 days longer and the temps were in the 90F+ to 100F+ ALL week! It was so hot. I don't think we could've made it if it wasn't for the glorious air conditioning in our camper. When we opened the door to go inside, the air coming out of the camper reminded me of the air you feel when you open the freezer on a hot day. But even better because we could go in! :)
Proof of how hot it was...

We also went to the amusement park again when it was 95F out. We did the rides with the kids first and then my inlaws took them straight to the kids waterpark where they spent the rest of the day. The rest of us grownups went on the big rides for a while but it was so hot we started to feel sick. So, we got our bathing suits and joined the kids. We were so overheated that we didn't even feel better until we stood under the mammoth bucket o' water and got completely soaked. Ahh..refreshing.
I did not have my camera with me at the water park so no pics.
Carousel with Grandpa.

We spent the rest of our time at the beach on the lake, the water was rather warm but it cooled us enough too.
The water looks brown in the pictures but it didn't in person. Weird.

The beach closed at 7pm even though it was 100F. Wahhhh....
The kids enjoyed the playground instead.

And of course time spent at the campsite.

Emma LOVES Memere's dog.

Of all the pictures I've taken in my life, this one ranks right up at the top. My niece was having major issues with Emma riding her own bike despite just having a turn on it. CLASSIC.

Ahh vacation...we had ice cream alot during the week, even for supper, that's what vacation is all about. Oh and sleeping in too. The kids slept until 9am or 10am most mornings, we have proof!

And finally, we'd only been on the road for 20 minutes on our way home...
