This has to be the easiest apple treat to make and it's so good! Not too tart, not too sweet. Pick some fresh apples-I prefer a mix of mcintosh and cortlands. If you have room in the crockpot, double this recipe. Believe me, I made the recipe amount and it was gone in a flash!! Plus, the aroma makes the house smell amazing.
Crockpot Applesauce
Ingredients:
4 medium cooking apples (1 1/3 pounds), peeled and cut into fourths
¼ cup water
¼ cup extra packed brown sugar
¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients in 3 ½ to 6 quart slow cooker.
2. Cover and cook on high for 1.5 to 2 hours or until apples are tender.
3. Stir and enjoy!
Makes 4-6 servings.

this is how i make my applesauce! except i just do it on the stove, which takes a long time of standing there stirring it every so often...a crockpot would be much easier - so of course i never thought of that :)
