dipping in the pool

It got to about 99 degrees here yesterday. Our average this time of year, 77 degrees so yeah, not too keen on the spike in the heat department. So, I thought I would take out our little kiddie pool and fill it up, let it sit in the sun for a bit and have the girls go in the afternoon. Rachel was thrilled, Emma...well, the pictures speak for themselves. (:

Rachel insisted that I take a picture of her doing this.

Oh yes, gotta love the water on a HOT day! Sounds awful there! If you're ever in the hunt for a bigger pool, we got one of the INTEX vinyl pools from Walmart last summer. It's 3'x12'. I think they are around $70 and come with a little filter (actually it was Cy's b-day gift from the grandparents last year!):) They are great! I bought the starter chemical pack for $15 and it lasted all summer. It went up perfectly this summer. The kids have been living in it! Naomi hated her kiddie pool too, until I just stuck her in it screaming and then she realized she liked it :) Stay cool!!!!

jtaco-thanks for the suggestion. we bought a bigger inflatable type pool for Rachel last year and it barely lasted the summer. cheap piece of junk, not happy about that one. but, we didn't know what was good to get so thanks for mentioning it!

we have one of those 'crab' sandboxes, and are currently using it for a kiddie pool.
tenny - the popsicle idea is a good one :)
