the shadow proves the sunshine

I've got good news. I am now at my pre-Emma weight. Hurray! I'm actually ahead of schedule because my doctor had told me at my 6 week postpartum visit that it would be about a year. I was completely mortified. Why so long? Well, I'm pushing 5'3" with a short torso. I had a 9 lb. 11 oz. baby who was so big that after 11 hours of labor, I ended up with a c-section. Oh, and I'm not in my 20's anymore!
It gets worse, she also told me that getting my waistline back would take a long time and require really hard work. At the time, I was devastated but now I say, BRING IT ON! If I don't do it now, I probably never will and it will just get harder as I get older. I want my waistline back and to get back to my pre-gluten-issues size. Another motivation, to reach my goals for our 10th anniversary which is at the end of June.
I have revamped my workout regimen significantly which I started last week. See Rachel's drawing below for some of my sweet moves. I asked her what that stuff was around my head and she said it was all the heat from exercising so much. Right on. (:

I'll share some details of my workouts in another post. So far, I've been able to fit into a pair of jeans I haven't worn in 4 years. I don't know which is more shocking, the fact that I did it or the fact that I still had them! (:

Way to go!!! That is sooooo awesome Mary Beth! I'm thrilled for you! Now, how do I get myself motivated again? I did it for a few weeks, but then Naomi got RSV and I haven't been able to get back into the routine, ugh! You look great!

I thought I was the only one with huge babies - my middle daughter was 9lb. 12 oz and I am only 5'2. She did a number on my mid section as well.

thanks for the motivation!

Towards the end, I was thinking, are you sure there's not another one in there? (:
